Bandhavgad Jungle Camp

Bandhavgarh is a national park with a long history. It used to be Game park for Maharaja of Rewa. Situated in the Vindhya hills of Madhya Pradesh with an area of 168 sq miles (437 sq kms) it contains a wide variety of habitats & high density of wild animals, including a large number of Tigers & Leopards.
There are 32 hills in the park. These hills contain The Fort Bandhavgad after which this Tiger Reserve is named.Over half the area of Reserve is covered by Sal forest. On the upper slopes it is replaced by mixed forest of Sal, Sai, Dhobin & Saja. Such is the experience in Bandhavgarh National Park, one of the few remaning heavens for the Indian wildlife is - the Royal Bengal Tiger.
The most effective way to search for Tigers is on elephants back. The Mohouts are kept well informed of the whereabouts of the nearest tigers. Jeep safari is the best option for a jungle trail.
Bandhavgarh National Park has a wide range of wildlife (35 species of mammals) other than Tiger, which includes Chinkara, Nilgay, Chousinga, Jackal, Fox, Sambhar, Chital, Leopards, Jungle Cats, Hyenas, Porcupines, Ratels. Bandhavgarh Natopnal Park has large number of bird diversity (274 species of birds) which also includes Migratory Birds in winter, Birds of Prey. |

| Key Features of the Forest |
> Bandhavgad Tiger Reserve has highest density of tigers as compared to any other Tiger Reserve in India and hence chances of sighting are very high. One might encounter 10 - 11 tigers in just two days if he is lucky..
> Along with Tiger, there are spotted deers, Sambar, Barking deers, Sloth bears, Leopard, wild dogs, wild boars. Since Bandhavgad has less hilly area, it is easy to spot animal and hence overall chances of sighting of all variety of animals is high.

| Itinerary |
Day 1: (30th Nov 12) Departure for Katni at 6:55 p.m. by Gorkhpur Exp.
Day 2: (1st Dec) Arrival at katni, 1 p.m ,proceed to resort , evening walking trail around resort
Day 3: (2nd Dec) Morning & Evening Safari.
Day 4: (3rd Dec) Morning & Evening Safari.
Day 5: (4th Dec) Early morning Depart for Katni, Board train from katni at 9:30 a.m by Patna- Pune exp.
Day 6: (5th Dec) Reach Pune at 6:00 a.m
