ASTRONOMICAL NIGHT AT SURYASHIBIR

'Aastronomica' - an amateur astronomers club by TREKDI organising a star gazing night at Suryashibir. Suryashibir is beautiful location in the backwaters of Warasgaon Dam. Standing on the coast of warasgaon dam, we get a wide stretch of dark sky which offers a great opportunity for star gazing and other astronomy related activities. We will be setting up a 8" telescope for observing interesting objects from the sky.
Entire Night we will have Star Gazing sessions and in meantime while sky rotates and show some new constellations we will have theoretical information sessions. These sessions will help you to understand the real depth of sky. Things like What is Star? How is it born and how it dies? What mean by Constellation? What is nebula? What is cluster? What is galaxy? will be explained.

Day 1:
Departure at 3pm.
Arrival at Suryashibir at 5.30pm.
Welcome tea and snacks
Introduction session
Entire night star gazing activity (dinner break at 10.30pm)
Day 2:
> Wake up at 5:00 a.m.
> start return journey at 5.30am
> Back to starting point at 8am

| What to bring |
1. Telescope properly packed in a bag with padding
2. Complete spare set of clothes and towel/napkin etc.
3. Water bottle (atleast 1.5 ltr) compulsory
4. Electral/ Glucon-d energizers and personal medication
5. A sweater/warmwear (as panchgani nights will be cold)
6. Torch with a red gilletin paper
7. Torch with Extra pair of Batteries
