Buxa National Park : The Buxa National Park is a national park located in West Bengal, India, in the Buxa hills of the southern hilly area of Bhutan. Located inside the national park is the 760 km² Buxa Tiger Reserve. Animals found in the park include, thetiger, civet and red jungle fowl. More than 300 species of trees, 250 species of shrubs, 400 species of herbs, 9 species of cane, 10 species of bamboo, 150 species of orchids, 100 species of grass and 130 species of aquatic flora including more than 70 sedges (Cyperaceae) have been identified so far. There are more than 160 species of other monocotyledons and ferns. The main species constitutes trees like Sal,Champa, Gamar, Simul, Chikrasi Jaldapara National Park : Jaldapara National Park (earlier Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary) is a national park situated at the foothills of Eastern Himalayas inAlipurduar Sub-Division of Jalpaiguri district in West Bengal and on the bank of river Torsa. Jaldapara is situtated at an altitude of 61 m. and is spread across 216.51 km of vast grassland with patches of riverine forests. It was declared a sanctuary in 1941 for protection of the great variety flora and fauna. Today, it has the largest population of Great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros in the state, an animal threatened with extinction , and is a Habitat management area (Category IV). The near by Chilapata Forests is a elephant corridor between Jaldapara and the Buxa Tiger Reserve. Also close by is the Gorumara National Park, known for its population of Indian

SCHEDULE OF THE CAMP

Meeting Time and Place Details will be provided to the registered participants 15 days prior to the event at the pre-camp meeting.
Itinerary

Day 1: (24 Feb 13) Reach in Kolkata at 7:40 p.m. Take 8:30 p.m. train towards New Alipurduar JN.

Day 2: (25 Feb 13) Reach at New Alipurduar at 12:10 p.m. Proceed to Jayanti - Buxa. Walking trail in Jungle.

Day 3: (26 Feb 13) Morning and Evening trail in Jungle. optional Trek to Buxa Fort. (Short Trek)

Day 4: (27 Feb 13) travel to Chilapatta. Evening safari at Chilapatta.

Day 5: (28 Feb 13) Visit to Phuntchilling (Bhutan). Back to Chilapatta. Visit Crocodile zoo. Evening ride in Chilapatta.

Day 6: (1 Mar 13) Morning trail, Proceed to New Alipurduar station onword to Kolkata.

Day 7 : (2 Mar 13) Arrive at Kolkata.
