Santoshgad and Varugad Trek Print
 
Introduction      Those who are interested in visiting new places every time, this is a right trek. Santoshgad and Varugad are very less visited forts. Even ignored by local people but worth visiting by trekkers.
     These forts are situated in the rainshadow region of Satara district, so the monsoon is the perfect season to visit these forts. The forts are not very high so counted in easy forts. When you are on this fort, you can see grasslands and scrub of phaltan region around you.

Meeting Time and Place  Fergussion Colllege Main gate at 6 am sharp
Schedule > Departure at 6.30am
> Reach Phaltan by 8.30 and have breakfast
> Reach Tathavade
> Climb Santoshgad and back to base
> Lunch at the base
> Reach girvi, climb varugad, back to base
> Back to phaltan, tea/snacks
> Back to Pune by 8.30pm
 
What to Bring 1. Luggage packed in big good trekking sack, all luggage wrapped in plastic bags to avoid getting wet (compulsory)
2. Complete spare set of clothes & socks
3. Water bottle (atleast 1.5 ltr) compulsory
4. Electral/ Glucon-d energizers and personal medication
5. A sweater/warmwear
6. Good trekking shoes (sandles, chappals, floaters not permitted)
7. Torch with Extra pair of Batteries
8. Camera, Binocular (Optional)
