| Torna - Rajgad Trek - Test your Stamina
| Introduction |
Rajgad and Torna, two historically very important forts are few of the most visited forts in Maharashtra. Torna stands as a step stone towards Maratha Empire since this was the first fort won by Shivaji Maharaj. At the same time Rajgad stands as first capital of Maratha Dynasty.
These two important forts apparently lie in same region and situated on the same mountain range. Standing few kilometers apart connected by a mountain ridge.
Crossing this ridge and reaching opposite fort is one of the well known circuit treks in the Pune region. This trek can start either from Rajgad or Torna. But our trek route begins at Torna fort and continues along the ridge to the Rajgad fort. It takes the average trekker 5 to 6 hours to cross this ridge. The trek is quite strenuous as water is not available anywhere on the ridge.
