About This Tour

After the Chalukyas, Shilahar dynasty established their rule over Panhalgad in Kolhapur and the Deccan region. As per a copper plate inscription of 1191-1192, Shilahar King Bhoj-II built the fort. This fort was formerly under the rule of Adilshahi. On 7th Oct 1673, the Marathas won the fort and included it in Swarajya. But in 1701 Aurangjeb captured the fort. This fort was took back again by Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj. And in 1818 British took over the Pandavgad.

Day-wise Schedule


1 Day 1 06.00pm Leave from Pune, Fergusson college main gate.
08.00am Have breakfast on the way.
09.00am Reach to base village Velhe.
09.30am After introduction and briefing, start trek.
11.00am Reach to the top of Pandavgad fort, Explore.
12.30pm Start descend from fort.
02.00pm Reach to base village, freshen up.
02.30pm Have Lunch at village.
04.00pm Start return journey to Pune
08.00pm Reach back to pune with sweet memories of trek

Things to carry

A postive mind set and a healthy body!
Luggage packed in big good trekking sack, all luggage packed in plastic bag.
Complete spare set of clothes & socks
Water bottle (atleast 1.5 ltr) compulsory
Electral/ Glucon-d energizers and personal medication
A sweater/warmwear/rainwear (as per the season)
Rubber soled sport shoes. (Converse, sandles, chappals, floaters not permitted)**
A sleeping bag / Thermocol mat and shawl / normal satranji and shawl: (only for overnight treks)
Torch with Extra pair of Batteries (compulsory)
Camera, Binocular (Optional)
